NEW YEARS EVES

how was yours?

Started off the night at The Temple Bar. The bartender had a forearm tattoo that read "Neon Bible" which caused a massive eyeroll. There were balloons and ugly women everywhere. Also, a pink light up neon dick ornamented the wall. I drank two High Lifes.

Went to Paperhouse. Got to see The Phantom Cats who are a pretty incredible band and are quite unique in our little scene. Here's some Phantom Cats for you:

Went upstairs to catch whatever band was supposed to be playing but there was a blown speaker or something and too many kids doing drugs and fucking in the bathroom so we left.

Stopped in the Old Miami. All I remember was there was a black girl dancing with two white hippie guys. They did have a magnificent Christmas tree.

It took about 30 minutes to park in MGM's structure. MGM is the perfect new years nightcap. This is where you can find all of the freaks. We won $300. I bought 2 beers and a pack of cigs and it cost $30.

Got home at 5am.

It’s amazing what passes for “incredible” these days.

Of course there is “jr incredible” and what really is incredible.

It’s not that they totally suck like, Shifty McFly and the Dopesters, Ferndale Acid Reflux or JCM - pretty decent musicianship but borderline vocals and definitely “not incredible”.

Let me give you some help in how to evaluate bands.

1. Different ≠ good
2. Noisy ≠ good
3. Strange vocal ≠ good
4. Good ≠ Good
