People are afraid to merge at the Metro Times....

It's Monday and I had to take the day off from work today because of what I am about to write although I could have gone in, and actually offered, but they thought best for me to keep away because everyone is afraid of the swine flu that is going around, and that factors into the story, but not right now, and I am at the library and completely sober, but still nervous because I made a point to tell the lady at the computer help desk to "Watch me," and tried to make it sound harmless but now I'm looking over that way and she's there talking with another person and they're both looking this way....

I got out of work Friday and took my ticket to the DM....er Metro Times Best of Detroit party to meet up with -jr and it was a funny coincidence that we both got there at the same time, and at that point, if he would have told me that I would lose track of my running drink count at 23 and this would be even before his girl arrived, I would have laughed in his face and told him that I plan on living through the weekend.

We got in and were told that the doors opened in five minutes (I know, not very chill) and usually we wouldn't be caught dead at anything before it started, we both had the same idea in mind since Thursday, and I looked at the flashing sign above one of the bars in the concourse and I thought it said "Fleece"

We predrank at one of the bars and decided to go in. At this point you can feel free to refer to -jr's running steam of consciousness review or our twitter accounts because approximately, 45 minutes from this point I was on drink 11 and am unrealible...........

.....dancers on stage I think there were two of them at all times, and one of them was stunning and we were both wearing our sunglasses in the main club and Paige had disappeared but -jr said that he knew that would happen.....

....like the main party was wrapping up even though it felt like it had only been going on for a few hours (afterwards I read the brochure saying that the main party would only be going on for a few hours) and we had already met up with Melody and 3 of her friends outside the Sound Board and we all were smoking and I don't smoke and they left when -jr became distracted by something leaving me to shoulder a conversation I had no business being in, so I just stood there with a goofy smile on my face saying "Yep" and everything got quiet and they left......

......up at Amnesia and I chuckled at the irony, but felt uncool when the creators of the club probably thought the same way making me a year too late on the joke, and I remember that it was very high up and I was looking out over the city thinking that I was somewhere else, and -jr tapped me on the shoulder and said "How would you like to go outside on the ledge?" I was about to either, A: Have a massive panic attack (I had already started getting the chills), or B: Go outside on the ledge. Thankfully I ran into one of my old friends and I had no idea why he was there......

......back downstairs at the side bar named "Fleece" and we were chatting with a few local blog types and it was cool because Nick Oliveri, formerly of Queens of the Stone Age, was also there and probably the highlight so far was buying him a drink. I was up to number 20 at this point and I realized that I had only eaten 2 pieces of pizza all day today and I started to become tense, stressed, and then we went back up to the club with the guys, and then they diasappeared.....

....in a room with a bunch of people and I'm chain smoking, and this guy was saying how he wanted to go to City Club, and I shoot -jr a look that says "What a tool", but secretly I was thinking "Let's do it." At that point I ran out of the room, and I don't know why, but I was thinking of something called the pig flu, but I had no idea what it meant, and I grabbed drink number 23 and I ran back to our room 311, and thank god it was named after the band or else I would have been lost and, in an instant, high school was justified....

.....met up with -jr in the casino his girl was there along with her sister who was a spitfire......

...."oh my god is he alive".........

.....shower was very relieving although the body gel could have been more.........

......On the Border and I ask the bartender if the Pistons won yesterday, and he said "No" and I said "That really stresses me out", and I got my tab and slammed.....

.....a side of bacon and the sun was so bright but I realized I lost my sunglasses and -jr left to go shower and I stared at the table for about.......

.........covered in water, and it's freezing, and I can't lift my head.......

.......now it's 4:45 and I missed the movie so I go into the movies and catch the 4:45 show, and it was cool....

...apartment and had some more High Lifes but had to run and chuckled when I sent "On my Way" but hadn't even started to get ready yet...

.....Crofoot, 89X, girl with a shaved head and a bar down the street and it was downstairs, and I wanted to karaoke (I know, spare me) but went home instead.....

...stopped at a gas station and bought a pack of ciggys even though I dont smoke and got back into....

....Sunday, on the floor of my apartment, screaming, dialing -jr to come get me, but I had already left when he arrived, so he left, and I rushed back but missed him, and I don't remember what I did after....

....ate a pizza, got sick, but kept it down, drank a nutritional suppliment, got sicker......

...now it's Monday and I ran a mile or two, and it's nice out, and I could go into work but they told me to rest up, and I remember a news story on something called the pig or swine flu on Sunday, and looking for a ciggy but the pack was empty so I started screaming and burning up. I shudder here at the computer, and the lady at the help desk is gone, replaced by someone else, and I'm getting ready to go over what I wrote, and I'm thinking back to the flashing signs at the club on the 16th floor, "That's Entertainment!"
